| March 11, 2005, Austin, Texas criminal defense lawyer Jay Adkins of the Dunham Law Firm received a DWI dismissal for his client while one the pretrial docket in Travis County. Mr. Adkins's client was her second DWI. The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) pulled over Mr. Adkins's client, for a courtesy traffic stop, to assist with a flat tire. At that time the DPS officers observed an open bottle and a glass of wine inside the car. Mr. Adkins's client refused to do a breath test for the officers, but did do a field sobriety test and failed. If Mr. Adkins's client was convicted of this DWI, her job with the goverment could have been affected for future advancement. |
